A passion for mission work is something that was ignited in Michelle in her young adult years. That passion has guided her throughout her entire life, leading her to where she is today.
As Field Team Lead for Just Hope, Michelle vets new opportunities for the organization and creates effective plans to accomplish long-term goals. She ensures programs are operating successfully and, ultimately, guiding people down a path of economic empowerment and self-sufficiency.
Michelle first experienced the power of investing in the lives of others during her time doing mission work throughout the Middle East with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). She later served with Bible Study Fellowship International for 10 years as a teaching leader, equipping hundreds of women weekly in Biblical studies and leadership training. In addition, she taught a weekly class at the Nashville Rescue Mission for most of 14 years and served 13 years on their Board of Directors, leading as Board Chair for two years.
In 2004 she was able to start the first local women’s ministry dedicated to supporting, encouraging and strengthening South Sudanese women undergoing immense hardships as a result of the war.
Her work with Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, TN, where she currently attends, led her to partnering with Just Hope after seeing the South Sudanese people’s need for economic, business and agriculture training.
Michelle’s most profound investment to date, however, has been as a wife and mother to her husband Peter and three sons, Christopher, Justin and Taylor.
“I’ve been leading mission trips and teams for many years and am now thrilled to be leading the amazing field team at Just Hope as we train local leaders around the world,” said Michelle.
