This detailed map is a visual education of where we are currently operating in Sierra Leone. The map shows political borders within the country, the names of the tribes we work with, a list of the chiefdoms around our project area and other interesting details about the country.
On a side note, 60 miles doesn’t equal 60 minutes by car, as it usually does in America. Top speed along most roads in the area can be less than 10 miles per hour, so a 60-mile drive can take up to six hours. There also has been a recent bridge outage on the road from Freetown, where we enter the country. Getting around this outage adds another hour or so to the trip from Freetown to Bauya.
