The Just Hope Ghana team has hired David Dyer as Farmer Advocate. David will be responsible for training groups of farmers in organizational, agricultural, and financial skills, helping them maximize their yields and sustaining their income.

A graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, David has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture. He also holds an IT certificate from NIIT. Previously, he was assistant farm operations manager with Africa Atlantic Farms, tunnel manager for Ritalex Foods, and research assistant/technical officer for the Cocoa Research Institute of Ghana.

“As a kid I was always fascinated with how plants grow,” David said. “I had the opportunity to experience growing and nurturing plants when my family cultivated rice and have loved it ever since.”

Born to a Jamaican immigrant, David was born and grew up in southern Ghana with his 11 siblings. Due to school and work, David has traveled extensively throughout the country and speaks Ewe, Twi and English.

“It’s a wonderful feeling knowing that I can be of service to farmers in helping them achieve more,” he said. “And I love working with the Just hope team.”
