With appreciation for Bailey Bruce, our summer intern!
September 28, 2015
Over the years, God has blessed Just Hope by crossing our path with the path of others — people whose interests, skills and passions line up with a need of ours.
One such person is Bailey Bruce, a recent college graduate who interned with us this past summer. A Cross Cultural Studies major in the School of Ministry at Palm Beach Atlantic University, Bailey was seeking an internship that would give her hands-on experience in her chosen field. Meanwhile, Just Hope Director of Projects Phillip Crockett was developing a plan for working with young women in Panama preparing for life after the orphanage.
Phillip was delighted to have someone with Bailey’s educational background and interest to assist him on sorting through a large volume of life skills and and English language class curricula. Bailey’s responsibilities included comparing potential programs and making suggestions on adding or removing certain elements to create a program with the best fit for the young women in Panama. To cap the experience, Bailey traveled to Panama to meet the young women who will ultimately participate in the program and benefit from her efforts.
“It was an experience I will never forget and one I will forever be grateful for,” Bailey said. “It was wonderful getting to see how Just Hope operates in the field first hand. The Lord is going to do wonderful things for these girls!”
We thank God for introducing us to Bailey, for the opportunities created for her and for the women in Panama, and we wish Bailey the best as she plans her own professional future.
