Ambulances released to help fight Ebola

January 2, 2015

After receiving a waiver of duty fees from the Sierra Leone Ministry of Finance, the five ambulances we purchased in October have been released by the port authority. Today they are headed to the Toyota dealership in Freetown, where they are being certified for warranty. They will then be outfitted with GPS tracking devices and deployed for service, likely in the Bombali District. Shown above, these Toyota Land Cruiser ambulances are equipped for the terrain in Sierra Leone and have a light, siren, sealed partition between the cab and rear compartment, benches lining the rear compartment, and a wipe-clean interior.

We anticipate sharing more information about the impact they will have on the fight against Ebola in Sierra Leone.
